Small Business Highlight: Hour Kitchen

Are you a chef or a baker in need of kitchen space? If so, Hour Kitchen can be Your kitchen! Whatever your specialty (a food truck owner, a Baker, a Caterer, etc) Hour Kitchen offers a South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control "A" Approved commercial kitchen for rent!

Owner Lisa Alexander loves that the Upstate of SC has become a foodie town. She has noticed that a lot of small, start-up businesses cannot afford their own brick and mortar facility to operate a food business. Lisa previously owned and operated Greenville Professional Catering but then she decided to shift her focus. Rather than cater food, Lisa wanted to cater to the needs of other professionals in the food industry and that’s when Hour Kitchen was born-a shared commercial kitchen that can be rented!

At Hour Kitchen, you can rent by the hour or become a full-time renter if you surpass 40 hours per week. Their 3000 Square foot Kitchen is divided into Cold Prep, Hot Line, and Baking Areas for multiple tenant usage. They also have multiple Prep Cubicles for multiple tenants working simultaneously.

Need help starting your business?

Lisa feels her call in this season of life is to help other foodies fulfill their vision. Hour Kitchen can help those who need guidance in setting up their business. They can help from the ground up, from providing the necessary paperwork to becoming a legitimate food-based business with the state of SC with a business name, EIN, Retail License, Business License, Insurance and SCDHEC compliance and permitting. Lisa proudly offers out of the box thinking to help excel and expand business ideas.

Why Greenville?

Lisa is a native of Greenville. She loves taking a motorcycle ride up to Landrum and down Hwy 11 on warm, sunny days to enjoy the mountains and scenery. She loves singing and worship is important to her. She says you can find her at her local church on Sunday.

Lisa wants her hometown to flourish with job opportunities for all! “I want to have a positive impact on the community as my business grows with other businesses” states Lisa.

Lisa’s Goals for Hour Kitchen

“I would love to have Hour Kitchen full of folks who love food, love family, and love Greenville. My goal for this year is to expand my tenant base, which in turn not only helps my revenue, but helps the community's revenue as well.”
